Mimi is keeping “American Idol” producers on their toes.

Legendary singer Mariah Carey’s alleged threat to leave the show before the finale, due to the cat fights with fellow judge Nicki Minaj, has made “Idol” producers look into who would be best to replace the diva next season, RadarOnline.com is reporting.

The entertainment publication claims executives handling the singing competition are thinking of Selena Gomez and her on-again-off-again boyfriend Justin Bieber as candidates to be on the judging panel next season.

Other prospects to replace Minaj, country star Keith Urban and veteran “Idol” judge Randy Jackson include P!nk and Diddy, the website added.

According to RadarOnline.com, the producers are “desperate” to find four new judges, who not only will increase ratings (which had a significant fall) but will also get along.

“It’s been a lackluster season for 'Idol' and everyone involved with the show is well aware of it so that’s why producers are franticly working on lining up big name stars for season 14,” a source told the site.

Keeping in mind that “Idol” has lost some of its spark it had with Jennifer Lopez over the last two seasons, the sources says the producers want to make a drastic change.

“They want to go big next season, and you can’t get any bigger than Justin Bieber. The executives are calling it their dream team because who wouldn’t tune in to see Justin and Selena, Pink and Diddy?” The source added.

Apparently the insider told the gossip site that “there’s more drama going on behind the scenes of the show than on the stage, and that’s why there’s a major overhaul in the works.”

Still, some things on “American Idol” will not change.

The insider said the only person certainly coming back is host Ryan Seacrest, who so far seems to be a crowd favorite.

The publication said that the source confirmed both P!nk and Diddy have been approached in the past but both turned it down. Allegedly, Diddy wanted too much money, but now in light of the situation, “Idol” producers are reconsidering negotiating with the music mogul.

“‘Idol’ is not the water cooler show it used to be – it’s not hip and become really boring,” said the source.

“If producers have it their way – Justin, Selena, P!nk and Diddy will be sitting at the judges table next season and that’s a powerhouse group and everyone would tune in to see.”
