Like many other people, celebrities took to Twitter on Wednesday to comment on the election of a new Pope in Vatican City.
As thousands piled into St. Peter's Square, in Italy, to welcome Pope Francis, some celebrities posted seriously about the historical moment, while others --of course-- couldn't resist the opportunity to crack a few jokes.
Here's what some big-name celebs had to say about the new Pope:
I'm praying that this new holy father has a plan because these words are going to be important.

Waiting for the Pope to emerge on the balcony in a white gown. Doubt he'll be singing “Don’t Cry for me Argentina.” A missed opportunity!
