Thomas Rhett is used to working behind the scenes.
The singer and songwriter has made a career out of penning hits for country star Jason Aldean.
“I actually wrote his newest single ‘1994,” Rhett told Fox News.
But now the son of country music great Rhett Atkins is ready to step out into the spotlight, though he admits his current gig has its perks.
“It’s working out pretty good for my bank out,” he said.
Rhett’s showing off his own music skills with his new song, interestingly titled “Beer With Jesus.”
In the tune, he muses about having “a tall one” with Jesus.
“If I could have a beer with Jesus,
Heaven knows, I’d sip it nice and slow,
I'd try to pick a place that ain't too crowded
Or gladly go wherever he wants to go.”
