As Jenni Rivera won five accolades during the 2013 Premio Lo Nuestro in Miami on Thursday night, her eldest son, Michael Marín Rivera, was getting arrested for vandalism, TMZ is reporting.

The 22-year-old, whose birth name is Trinidad Angelo Marín, was charged with criminal conduct and had bail set at $1,000. Damages totaled about &200 and $1,000, says the entertainment publication.

Jenni Rivera’s family was in Miami, where the award ceremony took place, to accept the awards for the Mexican-American singer, who tragically died in an airplane crash which plummeted 28,000 into the mountain of Monterrey, Mexico in early December.  Rivera won five awards including Pop Album of the Year.

Early this week, as Fox News Latino reported, Rivera’s death certificate was made public.

The document, issued by the Monterrey jurisdiction in Mexico, states that the Mexican-American singer died from severe trauma and injury to the head, thorax and abdomen.

A few days later, Rivera’s body was transferred over to the All Souls cemetery in Long Beach.

Rivera was in the "final stages" of purchasing the plane she eventually died in.
