NEW YORK – It's official: Lindsay Lohan is obsessed with Marilyn Monroe.
The 26-year-old actress, who seems to love imitating Marilyn, took on an iconic scene from the classic actress in her new movie "InAPPropriate Comedy."
Lohan plays herself in the film as she fires back at paparazzi--literally, she shoots at them in the film's trailer--and she poses on a steamy grate in a look-a-like Marilyn white dress.
This certainly isn't the first time the "Scary Movie 5" actress has dressed up like Monroe. First, the actress did a a NY Magazine shoot in which she imitated the star.
In 2009, photographer Bert Stern posed Lindsay in a recreation of one of Monroe's most famous photo shoots, done shortly before she died.
Stern photographed Monroe in 1962 at the Hotel Bel-Air in California, six weeks before she was found dead from an overdose of barbiturates. Those images for Vogue magazine feature Monroe in next to nothing, posing nude with some scarves and jewelry as her accessories and sipping champagne.
Stern recreated those images with Lohan, at the same hotel, with Lohan wearing a blond wig and not much else.
Then, in 2011 for her much-talked-about Playboy shoot Lindsay once again posed like Marilyn. But interest was low in seeing Lohan’s intensely air-brushed impersonation of Monroe in glossy print.
Maybe her movie impersonation will go over better. "InAPPropriate Comedy" hits theaters March 22.
