Taylor Swift has been named the most charitable celebrity of 2012 by the website DoSomething.org. Largely, this is due to her hugely generous donation of $4 million to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. This year, she also became the youngest-ever recipient of the Robert. F Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award.

But who else has made a difference this year with their charitable efforts? Channing Tatum and Miley Cyrus both worked tirelessly for their chosen charities — the rainforest and dogs! And Selena Gomez worked at children's hospitals all over America. She also raised $200,000 at her annual UNICEF concert.

Charlie Sheen was also reportedly generous this year. Reports say he gave $75,000 towards the medical bills of a ten-year-old girl with cancer, and his donation was then bested by Stevie Wonder, who gave $100,000.

Hurricane Sandy also brought out a lot of charitable celebrities. Comedian Louis CK had to cancel a show, but he played two more to raise money for the relief effort. And Lady Gaga topped the list of Sandy celebrity donators by giving $1 million to the American Red Cross.
