The side-swept bang is a change for Middleton, who has had the same hairstyle since she married Prince William.

But she likely needed a new ‘do, said “What Not to Wear” hairstylist Ted Gibson.

“She needed a change,” Gibson said, noting that the Duchess’ choice of bang was a smart one. “If it went completely straight across the growing out process would be lengthy, but this one gives [her] a change without a lot of commitment.”

Gibson, who has worked with celebrities like Angelina Jolie and Anne Hathaway, expects many women will try out the side-swept bang like Middleton.

“The fact of what a side-swept bang can do for a woman is very sexy, flirty and effortless,” he said. “It brings emphasis, especially on Kate...to the cheekbones.”

He said the “very 60s” style will look good on women with all different face shapes, making it another Kate trend royal watchers are sure to copy.
