In an interview with Barbara Walters that aired on ABC Wednesday morning, Alley spoke about her new memoir, "The Art of Men," which details her past relationships. In the book she says she fell in love with the late Swayze while filming the 1985 movie North and South. Alley, 61, said Swayze wanted her to divorce her then-husband Parker Stevenson.
"I probably was more willing to break up my marriage, and I wasn't willing to break up his marriage," Alley told Walters. Alley and Stevenson later divorced in 1997 while Swayze remained married to Lisa Niemi until his death in 2009.
Alley says her flirtation with Swayze never went further than kissing.
"Believe me, it took everything that I had inside, outside, whatever, to not run off and marry John and be with John for the rest of my life," she said. Addressing the rumors about Travolta's sexual preference, she added, "I know John. With all my heart and soul, he's not gay. I think it's some weird way, in Hollywood, if someone gets big enough and famous enough, and they're not out doing drugs and they're not womanizing, what do you say about them?"
What do you think of Alley's reveal?
