Dancing With the Stars: Tito Puente Jr. Fills Ballroom with Mambo

“Dancing With the Stars” got some mambo love Tuesday night, as Tito Puente Jr. took over the ballroom with his timbales filling the air with Latin music beats.

The son of the great, late music legend Tito Puente performed a rendition of  “Oye como va,” a  song which has become associated with Puente’s late friend and iconic singer Celia Cruz.

Looking sharp in a tuxedo, Puente Jr. beat his “timbales” as professional dancers Cheryl Burke and other four visiting dancers spun around performing to the song.

Still, things were not so peachy for the rest of the broadcast, as Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol got sent home packing despite scoring higher than actress Kirstie Alley, who ranked in last place.

"Well, we did it," Palin said upon learning she and dance partner Mark Ballas had been eliminated. "We made it to Week Four and I'm happy with that, and I had an awesome time and awesome partner. These are just great people and I wish everyone the best of luck."

Left in the competition are U.S. Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson, who was told she and dance partner Derek Hough were safe right away, along with Sabrina Bryan and Kelly Monaco.

Gilles Marini and Emmitt Smith were also told they would be back for another week along with Apolo Ohno and dance partner Karina Smirnoff, despite Smirnoff’s mess-up and fall during the routine the previous evening.

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani as well as Kirstie and Maks Chmerkovskiy are also left in the competition.

Next week the celebrities will perform freestyle routines in two teams.
