She’s not old enough to drink, vote or serve in the armed forces, but this is not stopping Jessica Sanchez from staying involved in the political realm at the Democratic National Convention, currently taking place in Charlotte N.C.

The “American Idol” season 11 runner-up will be performing at the DNC on Wednesday during the 8pm-9pm hour, the Democratic National Convention Press Office announced on their website on Tuesday.

Sanchez, who is of Mexican and Filipino descent, will be joining DJ Cassidy and jazz musician Branford Marsalis, after they perform the national anthem.

The “Idol” signing sensation tweeted last week her excitement to be performing at the DNC.

“I might not be old enough to vote, but I'm so honored and excited to perform at @BarackObama's big party in Charlotte next week!#DNC2012!” Sanchez posted on her twitter account last week.

Aside from Sanchez, journalist, popular talk show host and radio personality Cristina Saralegui will also take the podium on Wednesday.

Sanchez and Saralegui will be followed by Salsa crooner Marc Anthony on Thursday, who will sing the national anthem at the Bank America Stadium in North Carolina.

Other celebrities who will be making an appearance include the Foo Fighters, Mary J. Blige, Earth, Wind and Fire, James Taylor, Delta Rae and Inspire the Fire.

"This roster of performances only adds to the excitement building in Charlotte for the historic week ahead of us," the 2012 Democratic National convention taking place in Convention Chair Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said in a statement.

Villaraigosa will speak at the Convention on Wednesday as well.

"The tens of thousands who will attend Convention events in person, and all those tuning in across the country, should be ready for quite a show," he added.

Rapper Pitbull has reportedly also been tapped to perform at an after-party for the DNC and rumors are swirling that actress Jessica Alba will also have a role at the convention along with “Desperate Housewives” actress and Obama supporter Eva Longoria.
