John Edwards’ former mistress Rielle Hunter, with whom he has a four-year-old daughter, is releasing a memoir outlining the details of their affair and the former presidential nominee’s dramatic fall from grace, according to a report form People magazine.

The tell-all, entitled “What Really Happened: John Edwards, Our Daughter, and Me,” is slated to be released on June 26, People reports. The news comes just one day after Edwards’ political corruption trial ended with an acquittal and mistrial.

"We are delighted to publish Rielle Hunter's memoir. A lot has been said. But no one has heard the truth of what really happened until now," Glenn Yeffeth, publisher of BenBella Books, tells People.

Edwards was tried in federal court on charges that he illegally used unreported campaign contributions to keep his affair with Hunter a secret during his 2008 presidential campaign. At the time, Edwards was still married to his late wife Elizabeth, who was battling cancer, which ultimately took her life.  He was acquitted of one charge and a mistrial was declared on the others.

Hunter has previously spoken about the affair before, giving an in-depth interview to GQ magazine in 2010.

"I know he loves me," Hunter told the magazine. "I have never had any doubt at all about that. We love each other very much. And that hasn't changed, and I believe that will be till death do us part. The love doesn't go away. It's unconditional."

On Thursday, Edwards spoke out about his actions.

"While I do not believe I did anything illegal, or ever thought I was doing anything illegal, I did an awful, awful lot that was wrong and there is no one else responsible for my sins," Edwards said on the courthouse steps.

He also said he had hope for his future.

"I don't think God's through with me. I really believe he thinks there's still some good things I can do."
