LAS VEGAS – Actors often go to great lengths to get into character. In the case of Anna Faris, those lengths included growing out her armpit hair.
"I thought it would be kind of whispy, light and maybe even kind of cute," said Farris, who took home the Comedy Star of the Year Award at the 2012 CinemaCon Awards ceremony in Las Vegas. "It wasn't. It was thick and black and very curly. It sort of defined my summer in New York."
Farris grew it out for her role as an organic food store owner in Sacha Bara Cohen's upcoming movie "The Dictator." While it proved to be pretty uncomfortable, it didn't prevent the "Scary Movie" star to have a little fun with it.
"If I got a little tipsy at a party I'd show (the armpit hair) off," said Faris. "People would just be floored."
Other honorees at the CinemaCon Awards included Sylvester Stallone, Michelle Pfeiffer Jeremy Renner and Charlize Theron.
