Fox411 Playlist: Bruce Springsteen leads pack of music heavyweights at SXSW

Austin, Texas was the place to be for music fans as the South by Southwest festival shaped up this week. The music festival and conference showcases what's hot in the music world and gives new and veteran musicians alike a chance to show off.

Rocker Bruce Springsteen is this year's keynote speaker and is rocking out on stage in support of his new album "Wrecking Ball" which has earned him his 10th number 1 album on the Billboard 200.

While many are enjoying the festivities at SXSW, many others are in mourning after the death of Doobie Brothers drummer Mike Hossack who passed away after a battle with cancer at the age of 65. Manager Bruce Cohn called the musician a "one-of-kind guy" and a "fighter" and speaks on behalf of the band and family when he says that Mike will be greatly missed.

Another life that is being honored is that of Whitney Houston as her hit movie "The Bodyguard" is returning to theaters for a one-night-only event on March 28th. The 1992 film will be celebrating its 20-year-anniversary this year and surely music fans will be remembering the soundtrack which, according to a press release, became the No. 1 best-selling soundtrack of all time with nearly 12 million copies sold in the US.

And speaking of number ones, Kelly Clarkson shows that she is still America's idol as she tops the Billboard Pop Songs list with "Stronger," the hit single off her latest album.

Another former "Idol," James Durbin, sat down with Fox411 recently and dished on his upcoming. To hear what he has to say click play of this week's 411 Playlist!
