We here at Fox 411 Country are gearing up for the 54th Annual Grammy Awards!

The Band Perry, who are Best New Artist nominees this year, are set to perform with industry icon Glen Campbell and Blake Shelton during the show, and are marking another milestone as they head into the show with another #1 hit with their tune “All Your Life” as it hit #1 on the Billboard Country Songs Chart.

Currently, the sibling trio are on tour with Brad Paisley for his “Virtual Reality World Tour 2012” and they are also currently playing our featured song of the week.

Putting the spotlight on other nominees making news this week,  it’s been announced Carrie Underwood, who’s up for Best Country Solo Performance for “Mama’s Song,” is now set to take the stage with Tony Bennett on the big night.  The two recorded “It Had to be You” for his “Duets II” album.  In the past, Carrie has made an appearance at a Bennett show in LA Sept 24th, plus she was part of the celebrity serenade singing him Happy Birthday in a Target commercial for that duets album.

In other country news, Merle Haggard is heading back out on the road. The 74-year-old country legend is ready to resume his tour that he had to postpone after being hospitalized in Macon, Georgia with pneumonia.  The tour with his longtime band, The Strangers, kicks back off February 28th in Tucson, Arizona.  The dates which were postponed in January are being rescheduled for April.  Haggard says he’s “feeling good and ready to get back on the bus” adding “thanks to all for their powerful prayers that led to my speedy recovery.”  Haggard’s latest album Working in Tennessee is out now.

We also highlight several projects set to mark what would have been Johnny Cash’s 80th birthday February 26th like a  project to preserve his childhood Arkansas home in Dyess on the day of, where the Cash family will gather to celebrate the groundbreaking of this permanent tribute to Cash’s early life.  Arkansas State University is spearheading the restoration of the house and it’s outbuildings.  A Johnny Cash museum set to open in downtown Nashville later this year, with items on display from the Cash Family.  Plus, expect new music complete with unreleased material – like the recent announcement by Legacy Recordings for Bootleg Vol. IV: The Soul of Truth on April 3rd, a 51-track two-CD collection of Cash gospel music recorded in the 1970’s and 1980’s.

In new music out now, there’s a tribute to Waylon Jennings with Waylon – The Music Inside: A Collaboration Dedicated to Waylon Jennings, Volume II.  The 11-track album features artists from Montgomery Gentry to Hank Williams Jr, Dierks Bentley and more singing Jenning’s hit songs. Jennings’ widow Jessi Colter along with son Shooter Jennings helped assemble the line-up in studio.  Meanwhile, Dierks has his own music on the shelves now too with his sixth studio album “Home” featuring his 8th career No. 1 single “Am I The Only One?”
