FOX411 Playlist: Conrad Murray Gets Maximum Sentence, 'Idol' Star's Christmas Tour

411 Playlist: Conrad Murray receives maximum sentence; Grammy nominations announced

More than two years after his death, the Michael Jackson manslaughter trial has finally come to a close with Dr. Conrad Murray receiving the maximum sentence for the death of the King of Pop.

Jackson's former doctor was sentenced to 4 years behind bars for what the judge calls a "horrific violation of trust." Murray was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for supplying the late singer with the potent anesthetic, propofol. Many Jackson fans are still outraged that despite being given the maximum sentence, Marray may be out of jail far before that, due to overcrowding in California jails.

Jackson's posthumous album "Immortal" is currently in stores and is receiving the Cirque de Soleil treatment in a North American tour.

In other tour news, "American Idol" David Archuleta kicked off his "My Kind of Christmas Tour" on December 1st in New York. The holiday special will end on December 21st in Colorado.

While Archuleta is spreading a little Christmas cheer, Fox411 sat down with R&B singer Mary J. Blige who talks about the experience of working with director Adam Shankman in her American Express Unstaged concert. Blige says, "What he is asking of me is to just do what I do, be myself." She goes on to say that Shankman's direction keeps her show "entertaining but at the same time keeps the rawness of the reality of it."

Wednesday night was a big night in music and one that is Mary J. Blige is all too familiar with. The 54th annual Grammy nominees were announced during a special concert that included performances by Lady Gaga, Sugarland, the Band Perry and much more. Leading the pack with the most nominations is hip-hop artist Kanye West as he is up for 7 awards, trailing right behind him is Adele, Bruno Mars and the Foo Fighters with 6 each.
