Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were crowned the best-dressed siblings of the year -- beating Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, and Pippa Middleton and singing sisters Beyonce and Solange Knowles to the title.
The 25-year-old twins were described as "legitimate fashion forces" by Vogue as they beat nine other international sister acts to the top spot in the magazine's December issue, out Nov. 15.
"They get it right a lot of the time, and then sometimes, they don't get it right," according to Mark Holgate, Vogue fashion news director and editor of the best-dressed issue. "That's actually great because it shows that it's their hands reaching into their wardrobes. They don't have someone telling them, 'This is cool, this is hot, this is what you should be wearing.' It comes from within them. It's instinctual."
The Olsens were credited for their fashion labels The Row and Elizabeth and James, and graced the prestigious cover wearing black lace veils.
Other stylish siblings who made the cut were the Fanning sisters, 17-year-old Dakota and 13-year-old Elle, in second place, Beyonce and her younger sister in seventh, while Catherine and Middleton took ninth spot.
"It's been a year of sisters, most famously with Catherine and Pippa Middleton," Holgate said. "There was just something interesting about seeing how siblings' style can be so different and unique."
