Michael Lohan was back in police custody Thursday, less than 12 hours after being released on bail in a domestic violence case.

Lohan's estranged girlfriend Kate Major called police in Tampa, Fla., early Thursday claiming Lohan was making harassing phone calls to her, despite a judge ordering him to stay away from her the day before, myFOXtampabay.com reported.

Major, a former tabloid journalist, put Lohan on speaker phone after police officers arrived at her apartment so they could listen, according to the report.

Police said that when they then confronted Lohan at his hotel, he jumped off a third story balcony in an attempt to evade capture.

The father of troubled actress Lindsay Lohan was caught after falling into a tree. Lohan was taken to Tampa General Hospital complaining he may have broken his foot.

The 51 year old was arrested on charges of violating a condition of his pretrial release and resisting arrest without violence, a law enforcement official said.

As Lohan was being escorted to the police vehicle, he claimed he had merely been responding to Major's call because "she needed help," myFOXtampabay.com reported. "She keeps doing this ... She needs help, she calls me and I'm the sucker. I called back, and I'm an idiot."

Lohan was in court Wednesday facing domestic violence charges after Major claimed he turned violent at her apartment early Tuesday and threatened to kill her when she refused to perform oral sex, leaving her with bruises on her arms and marks on her legs.

During the court hearing, Judge Walter Heinrich ordered Lohan to stay away from Major, saying, "If you even dream about [Major] and you violate my order, you will go to jail."

His lawyer claimed Lohan was only socializing with Major at her invitation, but the judge did not accept the argument. "If he had an invitation to come up here, he shouldn't have come up here," the visibly angered judge said.

"He's not allowed to come up here, he's not allowed to be around her," he continued, adding, "Does he know how to read [the restraining order]?"
