The Charts

The combination of Jay-Z and Kanye West, aka “The Throne,” reigns on top of the Billboard 200 for a second week with “Watch the Throne” as record-setting Katy Perry is back on top of the Pop Songs list with “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)”. That song made Perry the first woman and second artist ever in the 53-year history of the Billboard to have five songs from one album hit No.1. The first? Michael Jackson.

The News

Amy Winehouse's family sent out a statement saying the singer had no illegal drugs in her system when she died.  The statement released by spokesman Chris Goodman on the family’s behalf also said toxicology tests showed “alcohol was present” but it hasn’t been determined if it contributed to her death. The 27-year-old Grammy winner was found dead in her London home July 23rd.

The Artists

Red Hot Chilli Pepper's bass player Flea talks to us about their first new album in five years, and their first in 15 years without guitarist John Frusciante. Flea said the band has experienced "feelings of self-doubt" in moments as well as feelings on "anticipation" to see what the Peppers' latest chapter will bring.

Alice Cooper is currently rocking his highly anticipated sequel album “Welcome 2 My Nightmare” on the road, entertaining fans with songs like “I’ll Bite Your Face Off.” Catchy! The album, which continues the story of its 1975 predecessor, is due out September 13th and tells what Alice is having nightmares about this time around. The group of collaborators joining him to sing out those stories range from original Alice Cooper members to pop star Ke$ha.

And Night Ranger’s Jack Blades and Kelly Keagy stop by to talk about their band’s ninth studio album, “Somewhere in California.” The album includes the autobiographical tune and current single “Growin' Up In California,” and the collection celebrates their 30th anniversary making music.
