EXCLUSIVE: 'Colombiana' Star Zoe Saldana Finds Angelina Jolie Comparisons 'Scary'

Zoe Saldana cements her status as the “it” butt-kicking girl in Hollywood playing a revenge-seeking assassin in the new action flick “Colombiana.” Saldana has now shown us her not-to-be-messed-with moves multiple times in movies like “Avatar” and “Star Trek.”

In fact, Saldana’s badass beauty roles have many critics positioning her as the “new Angelina Jolie,” a comparison that makes her slightly uncomfortable.

“If I think about it in that fashion than yes (it’s scary,) I wouldn’t want to think about it in that way,” Saldana told FOX411’s Pop Tarts column at the “Colombiana” premiere in Los Angeles this week. “But I have been inspired by amazing actresses that have taken amazing risks and opened amazing doors, and I am a product of that and I am honored to be included in a group of women that have defied their own gravity. Besides playing amazing character roles they also have an amazing agility to do action.”

Like Jolie, Saldana opts to do her own stunts wherever possible, even if it means leaving the set a little black and blue.

“Thank God no permanent injuries, but I was definitely very, very sore. It’s always a lot of work and its exhausting while you’re doing it and your training for it,” she said. “But once you see it on the silver screen it’s such an amazing reward and only because you are proud of what you do but also because you’re representing all the professionals that that invested their time and their work to train you. To know that they are proud makes me feel very, very good.”

And while most men would most likely sacrifice a lot for the opportunity to get up-close-and-personal with the sexy action star, “Colombiana” co-star Michael Vartan seemed less-than-impressed with their intimate moments.

“Zoe never complained about the fight stuff or the action stuff. She complained about my fake kissing,” Vartan told us. “Love scenes on movie sets are never quite as romantic as they seem to be. It’s very hard to concentrate and pretend to be making love to someone who you’ve got a boom operator’s microphone up your rear end so it’s not really what it’s cracked up to be, so you do what you can.”
