We start off this week's Fox411 Country Round-up with an early congratulations to Taylor Swift. The four-time Grammy winner is set to win the Ultimate Choice Award during “Teen Choice 2011” Sunday August 7, live on FOX. Previous award winners have received recognition for their contributions to the entertainment industry including Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, and Reese Witherspoon.
Meanwhile, it's been a great summer for regular Swift show opener, Randy Montana. He released his self-titled debut album which includes his current single "1,000 Faces."
Also new music, Jason Michael Carroll teams up with his former place of employ Cracker Barrel Old Country Store for his new album "Numbers."
"I used to work at Cracker Barrel as a server, I helped open the Henderson, North Carolina store," Carroll told Fox411 Country. After his last visit, he was told his old job was still waiting for him. "When I was leaving, one of the managers that were working there said ‘Hey do you want to come back? I said – maybe.'
Featuring 11 new tracks including the hit, "Alyssa Lies," "Numbers" is Carroll's first studio album since 2009. And this time, the singer is getting personal. "It's a little bit more about me, things that I’ve experienced, things I’ve been through."
Fox 411 Country also caught up with Ronnie Milsap who's gone "Country Again" for his latest collection. The 6-time Grammy winner has had success in many genres and he can't pick a favorite. "I love them all I really do," he told us. "I'm not comfortable at one place all the time. I've always been somebody who has to move around a little bit."
Milsap says he's excited to be singing a song that already has folks on their feet with "If You Don't Want Me To" also known as "The Freeze."
"The first song is actually kind of a cult song, it happened because it was a B-side of a couple of singles and it started down Lafayette, LA," he told us. "Folks heard this song and they invented a line dance to it called The Freeze. And for just about every occasion or celebration, they would play this song, The Freeze and they would dance to that and so it's starting to play on the radio down in Louisiana and folks pulling off to the side of the road, getting out of the cars and dancing in the streets."
Eric Church also stopped by to talk with Fox411 Country about his third studio album out now called "Chief." The country crooner escaped to a cabin in North Carolina to focus on his album which he says includes some great songs for live shows. He also adds in serious tunes like his current single "Homeboy" which we played as our featured song of the week.
