It was pretty much inevitable: Stefano "bottom three" Langone is finally leaving "American Idol."
After making it to the Top 13 with the help of the judges' wild card -- and spending much of his time on the show in those dreaded three stools -- Stefano seemed ready to go home on Thursday.
"I'm just so blessed I came this far," the seventh-place finalist said -- and indeed, it was nothing short of a miracle that Langone lasted longer than contestants like Pia Toscano.
But while the judges' wildcard pick was ready to go, Jennifer Lopez was left teary eyed at Langone's cut.
But hey … Stefano had a great attitude every week, made several amazing comebacks and proved to America that he had plenty of "swag." James Durbin seemed heartbroken to see him go, and anyone James likes must be a pretty cool guy (can you tell we're into James this week?)
Joining Stefano in the bottom three were Jacob Lusk -- no surprise there -- and Haley Reinhart. Now, Haley is also no stranger to the bottom three, but we thought her performance of Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" might have been strong enough to spare her. Alas, this was not the case, and Haley seems headed in Stefano's direction.

Other observations from Thursday night's show:
--Casey Abrams never intended to kiss Jennifer Lopez on Wednesday. "I was just gonna breathe in her face," he explained. J-Lo seemed relieved that he went with the kiss.
--It was good to see season seven winner David Cook again, but his new song is a little generic for our taste. Somehow, we thought he'd wind up to be a little bit cooler.
--Katy Perry and Kanye West gave an awesome performance of their new song "E.T." -- especially Katy, who really stayed in character as a lovestruck alien. Maybe she didn't hatch out of a giant egg, but she's giving Lady Gaga a run for her money.
-- Out of the remaining top six, only James Durbin, Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina have never been in the bottom three. It doesn't seem too early to start placing bets on who's gonna win this thing …
