Reclaiming the throne as queen bee of the web, the curvaceous  Kim Kardashian climbed from runner-up to the top spot on the GossipCenter Hot 45 list thanks to another full-throttle week in the spotlight.

The E! reality beauty displaced last week’s chart-topper Britney Spears as she was able to hold off strong charges from the always-intriguing  Lady Gaga and up-and-coming actress  Jennifer Lawrence.

Let’s see how this all played out.

She’s certainly no stranger to topping the GossipCenter Hot 45 List, and Miss Kardashian did it again thanks to a publicity-drawing battle with Cosmopolitan Turkey over the mag’s recently released cover shot.

While she lashed out at the publication, the 30-year-old has since made nice – even agreeing to pose for a “redo” cover to be released at an unannounced future date. Kim also drew eyeballs after offering up a juicy interview to Life & Style in which she openly chatted about her desire to marry and start a family with her NBA player beau, Kris Humphries.

Coming in at a close second place this week was “Born This Way” singer Lady Gaga – who never fails in garnering attention. Currently in the midst of tour duties, Gaga’s big week included a risqué spread to go along with her cover issue of the May 2011 installment of Harper’s Bazaar. Helping to solidify her runner-up finish, the 25-year-old was the focus in what became a viral video – as she had a slip-up while performing at a concert in Houston over the weekend (April 10) during which she lost her balance somewhere in between her piano and its bench before taking a frightening fall. Fortunately, the spill didn’t slow her down, as Gaga got right back up to continue on with the Lone Star State show.

Rounding out the Hot 45 List top three was the lovely and talented Jennifer Lawrence. The 20-year-old Kentucky native shot up the ranks to land her highest finish ever thanks to the release of a can’t-be-missed lingerie spread adorning the pages of the May 2011 issue of GQ magazine. The “Winter’s Bone” babe also is featured on the cover of the latest installment of Teen Vogue after having recently been named as the lead actress in the much-awaited movie “The Hunger Games.”

As for the big movers of the week,  Katie Couric ascended from obscurity up to the 14th position thanks to her highly publicized return to the “Today” show as part of her promotional tour for her new book “The Best Advice I Ever Got”. The “CBS Evening News” star chatted with her former co-anchor  Matt Lauer while admitting it was “weird” to be back. Joining Katie as a high-riser was  Catherine Zeta-Jones, as the 41-year-old actress soared from #206 all the way to the 27th slot upon breaking news telling that she checked into Silver Hill Hospital in Connecticut on April 6th. The hospitalization has since been confirmed to have been initiated so that Catherine could receive treatment for Bipolar disorder.

Not having as much luck as the previously mentioned stars, the latest edition of the Hot 45 List rankings saw quite the downward trend for YouTube sensation  Rebecca Black. Following a few strong weeks in which she placed in the top 30, the “Friday” singer seems to have lost a bit of her luster – as she slipped all the way to #153 by week’s end.

The Gossip Center Hot 45 List is calculated by looking at the popularity of the site's hottest stories, and determining which stars are on the rise, and who is crashing and burning.
