The Jazz bassist of Mexican descent will join other Latin artists like Eddie Palmieri Latin Jazz Band and Miguel Zenón.

The three-day event is scheduled to take place Aug. 5-7 in Newport, R.I.

Spalding, 23, will also be overseas performing throughout Europe and Africa. In early September, she will join Brazilian guitarist Milton Nascimento on tour.
