Aretha Franklin says the ailment that lead to her recent surgery has been resolved.
In an interview with Jet magazine, the Grammy winning Queen of Soul says she first began to experience pain in her side during a concert last year in Toronto. Franklin said she initially thought the problem stemmed from a colonoscopy. The doctor that performed the procedure had her return for tests.

Franklin would not disclose the condition from which she suffered and she would not she comment on reports that suggested she had been treated for pancreatic cancer.
She did, however, share a message with her fans.
"I know my fans are concerned. Let them know I am feeling great and coming along," she said. "I want to thank my fans and friends and supporters who have prayed for me and sent me beautiful cards and flowers. Please continue to respect my privacy as I continue to recover."
Franklin was released from a Detroit-area hospital last month, two weeks after her surgery. She has canceled all concert dates and personal appearances through May.
