Reality star Kim Kardashian says she never expected to be doing what she is at the age of 30.
In a new interview with Glamour magazine, the star is interviewed by Katie Couric, who asks her about Playboy, life on a reality show and coming to terms with her world-famous curves.
Despite saying she regretted posing for Playboy last year after wishing she had waited until she was thinner, she is now changing her tune.
“It was an independence thing for me. I was always by the book, such the straight arrow when it came to pleasing my parents and being a good daughter. I felt like this was one decision that only I could make. And I think it looks great. I’ll have those pictures forever.”
She added that she is happy being a sex symbol, although she doesn’t find herself as “sexy as everyone thinks.”
In fact, she says she is actually a little insecure, adding that it was “a process” to reach a point where she was ok with her body amid the intense scrutiny of the media.
“You have to learn to accept it,” she said. “You have to learn to like what you see in the mirror. There are definitely times when I don’t feel like myself, but you have to fake it until you make it.”
For now, she is focused on her career and staying single.
“It’s easier to just be single and not have a relationship. How do you get to know someone on a reality show? Some people think that they can handle it, and then they really can’t.”
