Don’t count on seeing superstar Cher, nor her “Burlesque” co-star Stanley Tucci, cruisin’ around in a Prius anytime soon. Unlike many of their Hollywood counterparts, these two aren’t buying into the hybrid-car hoopla.

“I researched all the hybrid stuff and its pretty much all bulls**t,” Cher said when asked about her vehicle preferences. “I was going to get a Mercedes diesel thing, but then thank God I found out there was no diesel places near us, so if there was a fire, I would not be able to get out. There have been 10 fires since I lived in my house in Malibu, and we’ve had to evacuate. It wasn’t safe and if there was a fire, we wouldn’t be able to get out.”

And while the 64-year-old legend does make an effort to play a small role in protecting the environment, she believes those in political power are the ones who need to improve their game.

“I think people would do a lot more if the government put out a list, saying ‘this could do this’ etc. The government isn’t very helpful. People are willing to do all they could if they just knew what to do,” she said. “I turn off the lights, we don’t use plastic bags. We’re probably not doing enough, but we started changing the bulbs to those curly bulbs.”

Speaking of “those curly bulbs,” Tucci is less than impressed.

“Don’t you hate those? Let’s face it everyone looks like they have jaundice. They’re awful. I’m sorry, but they need to come up with something better," Tucci griped. "I’m very environmentally friendly, but the onus is always on the consumer. You’ve got to change every light bulb in your house, and you can’t really see anything and it is awful, then they come up with something else and you have to change it all again."

Tucci also backed up Cher on her hybrid hesitancy: “If the stuff that’s there actually worked, like the hybrids, which are questionable at best. There is this huge promotion and then you look at the gas mileage… it is not that different at all. It just makes people feel better.”

Cher told Pop Tarts she has no immediate plans to record an anti-bullying segment for“It Gets Better” with her son Chaz, although it sounds as though she isn’t quite accustomed to his gender transition from Chastity to Chaz.

“We haven’t talked about it, she’s been… she, I do this all the time, my pronouns are just f**ked,” she said. “He’s been doing the documentary and the book, so that’s been taking up all the time.”

And when we asked the star if she could “Turn Back Time” and change anything from her 45-year career, what would it be?

“Shut my mouth,” Cher said. “I would shut my mouth a lot more than I have in my life. I wouldn’t have done anything different because you just do what you do, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. You just have to keep going, mistakes are just mistakes.”
