Surprise Supporter: Shanna Moakler Thinks Sarah Palin Can Offer 'So Much More,' Miss Universe Says Titleholders Can’t Have Religious or Political Opinions | Heidi Montag Declines $$$ to Dance in Strip Club | 'Twilight' Director Dissed From Diddy’s Party
While most women in Hollywood have spent the last ten months tearing down former Republican Vice Presidential-nominee Sarah Palin, we were surprised to learn that reality star Shanna Moakler firmly believes that the resigning Governor of Alaska has the potential to really make an impact.
"I think she can make a lot more money if she resigns, she has a lot more to offer us than her current position," Moakler told Tarts at Diddy’s White Party over the weekend.
The former Miss USA hit headlines earlier this year when she resigned from her position at the co-executive director of the Miss California pageant after Donald Trump announced that the controversial Carrie Prejean could keep her crown. But now that Prejean is out of the picture it sounds as though Moakler wants to move back into the organization.
"We're in talks," she said. "It is something I would love to be a part of so we'll see."
The Prejean downward spiral began back in April during the interview portion of the Miss USA pageant when the California representative voiced her belief against same-sex marriage. Although all the questions the finalists were asked had a political nature — ranging from gay marriage to government bailouts to universal healthcare — oddly enough, reigning Miss Universe Dayana Mendoza said that the titleholders can’t have political or religious voices.
"As beauty queens or representatives of women and women empowerment we don't really have a political position or religious position in our jobs," she said in response to our question regarding Sarah Palin’s resignation. "Maybe we can answer the question right after we remove our sashes and crowns, but that's not our job right now and we respect what we do."
Heidi Montag Declines $$$ to Dance in Strip Club
Heidi Montag recently bared her body for men’s magazine "Playboy" but it seems that is as far as the reality starlet is prepared to go.
Ed Norwick, the general manager of the newly re-opened New York Gentleman’s Club "Scores" (which in the past has attracted A-listers including Owen Wilson, Madonna, Russell Crowe and Howard Stern) recently sent a letter offering Miss Montag $25,000 to "dance" on the club’s main stage for five nights.
But it seems "The Hills" hottie has moved on to bigger and better things.
"I haven’t seen the offer," her rep told Tarts. "But this is certainly not an offer Heidi would entertain."
'Twilight' Director Dissed From Diddy’s Party
Catherine Hardwicke is the director of one of the hottest film series of all-time, aka "Twilight," but that still didn’t get her smoothly into Diddy’s exclusive White Party in Los Angeles over the weekend.
Apparently Hardwicke wasn’t on the list and was asked by a staffer for her "business card." Whoops.
"Have you ever seen 'Thirteen?' Or 'Twilight?' Well I’m the Director," she responded with embarrassment. "Ashton gave me this invite himself."
Luckily for the Twilighter, she eventually made it inside the highly-anticipated bash and was seen clinging to her new BFF Mr. Kutcher.
