Taylor Swift Opens Up About Her Lack Of Friends & Reveals How She Punishes Heart-Breaking Boys | Katy Perry Wants to Do Naughty Things to John Mayer … | Exclusive: Kristen Cavallari in Car Accident | Pop Tarts Scene & Herd
When it comes to finding the ultimate teen role model one can't go past Taylor Swift - talented, beautiful, gracious and still the same grounded and sweet girl she was before she became one of the most successful and popular young country artists of the decade. But seeing the thousands of teenage girls crying with excitement at seeing the 19-year-old at the sold-out Staples Center in Los Angeles on Friday night makes it hard to comprehend that she was far from being popular in her own junior high school days.
"It doesn't matter if you don't have friends in junior high," Swift said as she kicked off her first ever headlining "Fearless" tour. "Being an outsider gave me time to think … But there was a time when my greatest fear was not fitting in at school; I never thought I would be here with a sold-out Staples Center."
Swift was clearly overwhelmed by the attention -- at one point the crowd drew such a long thunderous applause that the songstress couldn’t get a word in so instead she covered her mouth with her hand in utter disbelief, her eyes filling with tears.
"I’ll never forget this," she eventually said, her voice cracking with emotion.
Swift was also joined on-stage with a surprise cameo by John Mayer (who often twitters about his enthusiasm for the young starlet) and the two sang Mayer’s hit "Your Body is a Wonderland" before launching into Swift’s "Whitehorse."
But despite being worth more than an estimated $18 million according to Forbes.com, Taylor’s true star-power stems from still being relatable to her young fanbase and her trademarked approach to dealing with dates who do her wrong.
"If you break my heart, hurt my feelings or mess with friends I’ll have to write a song about you," Swift said, also adding that she’s not the "only girl that burns ex boyfriends’ pictures."
"It’s been a tough year for a lot of people," Swift said. "When you get knocked down it is hard to imagine anything different."
And as much as this gorgeous girl is skilled at performing, she is even more skilled at writing. So where does her secret song-writing material pretty much all come from?
"I've written in a diary every night since I was 13," she admitted.
While John Mayer admires Taylor Swift, it seems he has quite the admirer in the slightly more controversial pop princess, Katy Perry. The "I Kissed A Girl" starlet called Australian radio show 2Day FM's Kyle and Jackie O Show last week and revealed quite a bit while playing "Shoot, Shag or Marry."
Perry was offered Benji Madden, Pete Wentz and Mayer and had to choose who she would shoot, shag or marry. She disclosed that she would shoot Madden (to whom she was recently romantically linked), marry Wentz (who is best friends with her on/off beau Travis McCoy) "because he seems to be a good dad" and while she couldn’t bring herself to tie-the-knot with ladies man Mayer, she has other impish ideas.
"I couldn't marry John Mayer, it'd be so intense," Perry explained. "I'd definitely shag the s*** out of him though. I'll go on record saying that."
Kristen Cavallari is getting ready for a career comeback as she takes over as leading lady of MTV reality series "The Hills," but things could have gone horribly wrong for the "Laguna Beach" babe last Thursday night. Pop Tarts learned exclusively that Cavallari and a friend were involved in a car accident after leaving the Lakers game in Los Angeles last Thursday night.
"Airbags were inflated, but both people weren’t injured, just very shaken up," an inside source told Tarts.
A rep for Cavallari denied the accident however, dismissing it as "not true."
But the 22-year-old seems to be getting out and about here, there and everywhere as she gets ready to fill Lauren Conrad’s shoes and this must have been quite the monetary deal as Cavallari adamantly assured Tarts earlier this year that she was like, totally done with the reality arena and was focusing on establishing a "real career" as a legit actress.
"I'm definitely enjoying it, it's tough but much more interesting than reality television," Cavallari said. "They keep asking me to go on 'The Hills' and I'm like, 'no thanks. That’s not what I want.'"
