After a week-long stay, actress Farrah Fawcett was released from the hospital Thursday, FOX News has learned.
Fawcett's publicist told FOX News that she was picked up by husband Ryan O'Neal.
On Monday, her spokesman, producer Craig Nevius said that Fawcett's anal cancer has spread to her liver.
The 62-year-old "Charlie's Angels" star was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006. She was declared in remission on Feb. 2, 2007, but three months later, scans showed "not only had it recurred, it metastasized to her liver," Nevius said.
Fawcett just returned from Germany where she had undergone treatment to address the cancer's spread, he said.
Nevius reiterated, however, that Fawcett was "not at death's door," as had been previously speculated.
In the hospital Fawcett underwent what her doctor, cancer specialist Lawrence Piro, told FOX News was a "minor procedure" that "led to a small amount of bleeding into a muscle in her abdominal."
Monday's announcement capped a brutal weekend for the actress that also saw her son Redmond O'Neal arrested on drug charges.
O'Neal, 24, was arrested on Sunday after behaving erratically in a jail parking lot. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance when he and some friends tried to visit an incarcerated companion.
Radar Online reported Thursday that O'Neal, still in jail because his father refuses to pay his $25,000 bail, is scheduled to appear on court on Friday and request to be admitted to rehab.
Radar Online earlier reported that the troubled O'Neal checked himself out of rehab just last week, and was caught with heroin and Xanax.
Fawcett's spokesman Nevius said that despite her setbacks, "Farrah has hope, and she hopes that others will continue to hold onto theirs."
