I’ve been observing and analyzing the Academy Awards for more than 30 years, and I’ve developed sort of a “sixth sense” when it comes to the Oscars.

Last year I correctly predicted all the major category winners in my article for FoxNews.com.

Let’s see if the lightning can strike two years in a row.

First, I predict that host Hugh Jackman will not hold back when it comes to making some friendly fun of his Hollywood cohorts. (Brad and Angelina, pray that you’re not sitting in the front row.)

You can expect to say to yourself “What were they thinking?” when you see at least a couple of glitzy get-ups. (Remember Tilda Swinton last year?) And you can be sure that the show will run longer than the scheduled three hours. (A midnight best picture announcement has become sort of a tradition, hasn’t it?)

But when it comes to predicting the winners, there may be fewer sure things than you think.

Maybe “Slumdog Millionaire” appears to be a lock for best picture, but when was the last time a small independent film with no big stars shot in the Indian subcontinent won the top award?

Try never.

And if you think that Kate Winslet is finally due after five defeats, remember that Meryl Streep has suffered 12 straight losses without a win.
