Jihadists In Military Playing U.S. for Suckers
How much longer will we tolerate fighting this war as if it were a minor crime wave? Our enemies are fighting to win and they are fighting everywhere, including within our borders.

Media Ignored the Truth About Communism
When the wall fell, leftists could not bring themselves to admit they had been wrong, much less apologize for their misplaced faith. So they did what they do best: They made excuses.

Win, Lose or Draw on Tuesday, Republicans Must Cast a Wider Net
If Republicans do well on Tuesday -- or even win it all -- a little humility and a lot of new thinking will be required. Frank Rich got it right in his New York Times column -- Republicans are in denial if they think they can be victorious with an all-white party.

The 'Debate' Over Rush and the Rams
If the NFL were to establish criteria for points of view, they would have to disenfranchise a lot of owners, at least some of whom who are political conservatives and fans of Rush Limbaugh's!

Obama Should Have Won Toastmaster Award Not Nobel Prize
Real peace is achieved when enemies of freedom are defeated. Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher and Pope John Paul II have more legitimate claims to the prize than President Obama.

Journalism's Irreplaceable Loss
Although he wrote hard-hitting speeches for Spiro Agnew and Richard Nixon, in person William Safire was gracious and kind. One of the last reporter-columnists, usually digging out his own information, his column was a must read.

Never Forget
"Remember the Alamo," "Remember the Maine," "Remember Pearl Harbor" were slogans from our past. Their purpose was to remind us of why we went to war. Those wars ended. This one hasn't and so we must remember why we are at war and the objectives of our enemy.

My Friend, Ted Kennedy
Over the course of our 25 year friendship I came to see Sen. Kennedy not as a symbol, but as a fellow human being who did not get up each morning seeking ways to harm the country.

Britain's No Model for U.S. Health Care
I have spent most of the last month in the UK. From this vantage point I have watched on Fox the debate in the U.S. over the Democrats' desire to transform the way we care for the sick and elderly. Many opponents of the House plan (President Obama and the senate do not yet have one) cite the way the British deal with their sick and elderly and warn that America could become like Britain. Those critics are right to worry.

Bring Back the Right Stuff
As we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, we ought to remember what and who made it possible. It isn't too late to again embrace those virtues.

Tiller's Murder Is an Unjustifiable Act
Late-term abortion doctor George Tiller was shot to death inside a church in Wichita, Kansas on Sunday.Over the years I've heard all the arguments from the extremists. Wasn't it morally justifiable to attempt to assassinate Hitler to stop him from killing Jews?

Obama Gets a Three-Fer -- But What About the Constitution?
Whatever Judge Sotomayor's "qualifications," this is clearly a political pick and a "three-fer" for Obama. She is a woman, a Hispanic and a liberal.
-------------
In much of the commentary so far, there is nothing about Judge Sotomayor's view of the Constitution which ought to be the primary concern for anyone ascending to the court.

Foiled NYC Terror Plot -- Another Reason to Keep Gitmo Open
The four men arrested in New York for allegedly plotting terrorist acts against Jewish synagogues and military planes ought to serve as another warning to the Obama administration as to the dangers these people present to the country.

Obama at Notre Dame
Put aside the question of whether a distinctly Catholic institution like Notre Dame should award an honorary degree to a man who stands against any restrictions on abortion; put aside the notion of academic freedom, which liberals favor as an intellectual premise, but rarely practice when it comes to conservative speakers, whom you very rarely see standing at the lectern at commencement ceremonies anywhere in the United States this time of year.

Farewell to My Friend, Jack Kemp -- A Unique Republican
Jack Kemp was a personal friend for more than 35 years. We belonged to the same church in Bethesda and our children grew up together. His passing is not only a personal loss for me; it is a loss for the country and his Republican Party.

Pirate Standoff -- The Tyrants Are Watching Obama
Perhaps the major reason it has been 200 years since pirates dared challenge the United States of America on the high seas was the decisive action taken by Thomas Jefferson (the first Democrat) against them.

Obama = Jimmy Carter -- Bring On the Reagan Republicans!
President Barack Obama is relentlessly pursuing a socialist agenda and substantial numbers of the American people seem fine with it. The forced resignation of Rick Wagoner as CEO of General Motors again shows the danger of a private corporation taking a government handout.
