Sandra Bullock: Don't Google Yourself, Not Now, Not Ever

"Gravity" actress Sandra Bullock further endeared herself to fans and critics alike at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on Saturday when she delivered a self-deprecating acceptance speech after winning the award for best actress.

“So, I Googled myself and read the comments section, thinking I could get some tidbits of what people really think of me … No human being should ever read the comments sections or ever Google one’s self at any time," began Bullock, who went on to list the many negative remarks she came across online.

"'Sandra Bullock is over 40' came up a lot. I know that. 'Sandra Bullock's way past 40.' Yeah, I know that, too. And apparently Julia [Roberts], you and I are in a dispute over George Clooney. We talked about this, right? It’s shared custody and we’re both fine with it."

Bullock also shared nasty comments that skewered her acting ability and appearance, but noted that not all of the feedback was bad. "Some commenters thought I had good hair and good teeth," Bullock jokingly added.

After her Google shtick was over, the actress became more sincere, looking back fondly at her experiences with Meryl Streep (she kissed Streep at the 2010 Critics' Choice Awards) and Betty White (whom she co-starred with in "The Proposal").

"I’ve had a pretty good life and a pretty good career," she concluded.
