Kate Winslet Was Doing WHAT During the L.A. Earthquake?

Kate Winslet has had one heck of a Monday. Just hours before the actress was honored with her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, she was treated to a 4.4-magnitude earthquake.

As she recounted on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," Winslet started off her morning as any new mother might: by pumping breast milk for her newborn son Bear. Multitasker that she is, Winslet was also on the phone with hubby Ned Rocknroll (neither Bear nor Rocknroll were in Los Angeles at the time) when the earthquake began.

"So I'm pumping, staring at my beautiful picture of my beautiful baby boy, and my husband's on the other line and the room starts to shake," said the "Divergent" star. "So, I said, 'I've got to go. I got to call you back.'"

This prompted Winslet to run and find safety in a door frame, where she braced herself alongside a friend who happened to be in the room. As the friend talked her through the ordeal, Winslet realized she was still pumping away.

"I just carried on pumping through the whole entire thing," Winslet giggled to DeGeneres and her audience. "You know us girls — we just do it, don't we? When you do it, you just do it!"

Luckily, the earthquake was over in a moment (it was just a "baby" one, as DeGeneres told her), but Winslet was in no mood for more. "Do you think there's going to be another one?" she asked the host.

"Of course there'll be another one!" DeGeneres replied, eliciting laughter from the audience.

Fortunately for Winslet, her Walk of Fame ceremony later in the day wasn't marred by further tremors, and she was inducted by her "Divergent" co-star Shailene Woodley without incident.
