Gallagher co-hosts "The Live Desk" with co-anchor Martha MacCallum


Trace Gallagher, a New York-based anchor, joined FOX News Channel when it launched in 1996 and currently co-hosts "The Live Desk" with co-anchor Martha MacCallum.

Most recently, Gallagher interviewed Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Ala., about proposed bailouts for the automotive industry. Gallagher provided live coverage of Hurricane Gustav and its aftermath from New Orleans. In 2006 he provided on-site coverage of the turmoil in the Middle East from Kiryat Shmona, Israel. During his tenure at the network, Gallagher has covered major stories both domestically and internationally including the Hurricane Katrina clean up efforts in Louisiana, the Columbia space shuttle tragedy from Houston, Texas and the Michael Jackson trial and verdict from the courthouse in Santa Maria, California. He also provided extensive on-site coverage from Thailand in the wake of the tsunami tragedy in South-East Asia.

Gallagher began his career at FNC as a correspondent in the Chicago bureau and spent over two years in the San Francisco bureau before moving to Los Angeles as a correspondent.

Prior to joining FNC, Gallagher served as an anchor/reporter at WCPX-TV (CBS) in Orlando, and before that he spent time as an on-air reporter for KYEL-TV (NBC) in Arizona, KVBC-TV (NBC) in Las Vegas and KTVB-TV (NBC) in Idaho.

A graduate of the University of San Diego, Gallagher received his bachelor's degree in business administration.
