Gutierrez joined FOX News Channel in February 2007.


Kris Gutierrez joined FOX News Channel (FNC) in February 2007 as a general news reporter based out of the Dallas Bureau.

Most recently, Gutierrez provided live coverage of the border fence debate in El Paso and the death of Anna Nicole Smith. Prior to joining FNC, Gutierrez served as reporter for KPRC, the NBC affiliate in Houston, Texas where he covered Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and their effect on the city of Houston. Gutierrez also covered several major trials during his time at KPRC, including Enron and the Andrea Yates case. Prior to his start there, Gutierrez worked for the ABC affiliate in Austin, Texas and covered the Columbia Space Shuttle disaster.

Gutierrez has been awarded with several Lone Star Emmys for his storytelling and was named one of best reporters in the state of Texas by the Houston Press Club. Gutierrez was also honored by the Texas Associated Press and the American Cancer Society for his reporting.

He is a Dallas native and graduated from Texas Christian University with a bachelor's in broadcast journalism.
