In the spring of 2007, Caroline Shively was named a general news correspondent for FOX News Channel (FNC). Previously, Shively was a correspondent for The Edge, the network's television affiliate news service. She joined FNC in 2002 as a freelance reporter and is based in Washington, D.C.
Most recently, Shively provided coverage from the border during the Israel-Lebanon war as well as the war in Iraq. In 2005, she was one of few Western reporters to cover the Iraqi elections from the voting polls. She also reported live from the Democratic National Convention in Boston, providing daily convention reports and updates. Earlier, she reported from Baghdad on numerous news stories, including the official handover of sovereignty to Iraq's interim government. She also reported on the Scott Peterson trial from Redwood City, California, and the death and funeral of Ronald Reagan in Washington, D.C. and California.
Before joining FNC, Shively served as a correspondent for WRC-TV, the NBC television affiliate in Washington, D.C. During her tenure with WRC-TV, she reported on the 2002 Washington, D.C.-area sniper attacks and reported extensively on the 2002 mayoral contest. Prior to that, she served as a news anchor for MSNBC and a weekend anchor for WTVW-TV in Evansville, Indiana.
Shively earned her bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Kentucky.
