Toyota chose a toy fair in Tokyo to introduce its latest concept car, the Camatte. The three-seat electric vehicle designed to build enthusiasm in automobiles among children in Japan where interest in cars has been waning in recent years.
Under its whimsical canopy top, the three-seat electric vehicle has a central driving position that can be moved close enough to the controls for a child to reach them.
An extra brake pedal on the right side allows an adult sitting in the back seat to help steer and stop the car. With a top speed of just 25 mph the Camatte is more of a learning tool than transportation.
Quick release fasteners make the bodywork easily interchangeable, allowing the Camatte to be transformed into a variety of designs.
Clever Camatte aims to create car enthusiasts.
