Michigan International Speedway hosts this Sunday's race, the Quicken Loans 400. Waltrip Racing looking to improve Clint Bowyer's season, and penalties for Jimmie Johnson and Danica Patrick.
Driver Justin Allgaier, born and raised in Illinois, says he's happy to see NASCAR head to the Midwest this weekend.
"Michigan is always a great race track for me. I love going there."
Allgaier thinks a win at Michigan is possible.
"We had great runs there last year... Looking forward to capitalizing on those and keep working with what we… what we found to be helpful last year and try to put that in the cars this year."
Jimmie Johnson and Danica Patrick will lose 15 minutes of practice time for this weekend's race at Michigan, after failing pre-race inspections last week at Pocono. Johnson, fresh off winning an appeal of a penalty handed down following last month's Coca-Cola 600, failed pre-race inspection three times before last Sunday's race.
And, Michael Waltrip Racing announces they are swapping the crew chiefs and reorganizing support engineers for drivers Clint Bowyer and David Ragan. Bowyer has not won a race since 2012.
