Pickups, SUVs and crossovers are the most in-demand new vehicles in America right now, and it looks like that will be the case when they hit the used car market in five years.
The top 10 vehicles on Kelly Blue Book’s annual Best Resale Value Awards list are all trucks and crossovers, while all-wheel-drive specialist Subaru was named the top brand overall. Lexus was number one among luxury brands for the fourth straight year.
The top 10 individual vehicles were the Chevrolet Colorado, Honda CR-V, Chevrolet Silverado, Jeep Wrangler, Ford F-150, Toyota Tacoma, GMC Canyon, Toyota Tundra, GMC Sierra, and Toyota 4Runner.
The Jeep Wrangler actually managed to grab two category awards; the two-door model topping the compact SUV segment and the four-dour Wrangler Unlimited listed as number one among mid-size SUVs.
As for green machines, the Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid took home the plug-in vehicle title while the Toyota Camry Hybrid is projected to hold more of its value than the rest of the hybrid/alternative energy cars on sale today, including the Toyota Prius.
